Living God’s Love
Love comes from God. It never is our choice. It is our response, our offering. Often, we misconstrue that we believe, we repent, we love, we choose God by our own initiative. But, God is the initiator, not us. Same is true with love -- All true love has its origin in God.
We love -- because God loved us first, because we are born of God, because we know God, because God lives in us, because God gave us the command to love. We respond to what God had first done to us. We are also able to love others because of God’s love that abounds in us.
Love verifies faith. The godly love that is in us means we belong to God – He lives in us. Thus -- we believe in the truth of the Word – Jesus, the son of God, we know and depend on God ’s love in us and we live in love. We fear no more, not even of judgment day.
Yes, only he who experienced first the love of God can love God in return and can love others. And he who does, lives in love, lives in God and God in him.
Thank You Lord for Your great love and for teaching me to love You to be able for me to love others as well. May Your love be made complete in me. Only because of Your abounding love and my love for you will I be able to love others – even the unlovable. Help me to always live in love and live in You. Amen.
