Jesus’ Mission and Glory

Jesus prays (verse 35). He gives importance to communion and fellowship with the Father. Jesus also do not forget His mission. He was intentional in His ministry. The work is aplenty that He couldn’t afford not to pray.

Worship first before service. Nothing should ever come before God. He deserves our topmost priority. Not even ministry should take His place. Everything springs out of our love for God and for His glory. Our relationship with God is what moves us to desire to serve Him. And our closeness to Him is what energizes and sustains our ministry. For if Jesus, who is God gives so much value on communion with the Father and depended on Him as He fulfills His mission, how much more to us frail and limited human beings? The more that we need prayers to keep us going on track.

Jesus is compassionate (verse 41). He reaches out His hands. He touches people’s lives. He heals. He can heal not just physical but even spiritual sickness. If we would desperately beg for physical healing, wouldn’t we be more anxious to be spiritually well?

God is more than willing to declare us both physically and spiritually healed. We can come to Him with bended knees and plea for His compassion to be healed.

When we experience Jesus – His mercy, His reach, His touch. When we receive healing and grace, we begin to spread the news. We cannot contain it to ourselves. We cannot help but tell of His glory.
